Privacy and cookies
[DRAFT: check this with a solicitor or the ICO's guidance before launch, and add your name and address. You'll also need to register with the ICO as a data controller.]
Who looks after your data
[YOUR NAME OR COMPANY NAME], [ADDRESS], is responsible for your personal data on GotOneMate. Contact: Chris@NocturnalMedia.co.uk.
What we collect and why
- Account details (name, email, password stored securely as a scrambled code, your area) so you can use the site.
- Your ads, replies, photos and messages so the site works. Ads and replies are public. Messages are private between you and the other member, though our team can read them if they're reported.
- Early-access sign-ups (email and what you'd post first), only with your consent, to tell you when we launch.
- Basic technical data such as your IP address, to stop spam and abuse.
We don't sell your data. We only share it where the law requires, or with services that help run the site (our web host and email delivery).
How long we keep it
We keep your account data while your account is open. Ask us to delete your account at any time and we'll remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we must keep it by law.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, or object to how we use it. Email us and we'll reply within a month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Cookies, analytics and adverts
We use one essential cookie to keep you logged in, and one to remember your cookie choice. With your consent, we use Google Analytics to understand how people use the site. It sets cookies and collects details such as pages visited, device type and approximate location. We don't use it to identify you. If you reject, no analytics cookies are set. You can change your choice any time using "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page.
If we show adverts from Google AdSense, Google and its partners may use cookies to show ads, including personalised ads. We'll ask for your consent first, and you can change your choice at any time. See how Google uses data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
